I have a pair of monitor speakers connected to a USB audio interface via balance cables. The speakers have always made a faint buzzing sound when idle that's not really noticeable unless you put your ears on the speaker . Gaming on the other hand the buzzing is annoyingly loud. So much so, I'm forced to use headphones. Any ideas on a solution? It's not the usb interface because headphones connected to interface is noise free.

Do you have grounded outlets in your house? You're already the second poster in a short time that has this problem.

its the internal amp on the monitor drivers causing the hum more then likely.. grouund isolation issue with the class ab or d circuitry.

Try disconnecting from the PC (feed audio from another device if they dont remain active) and see if they still buzz a lot when gaming.
This will let you know if its a ground issue.
