Hey, I've been having an issue with my 19" MAG 996PF crt monitor. From time to time, it seems to short out. I get horizontal lines that flicker across the screen, like electrical interference. When this happens, I can hear it through my speakers too. It sounds like a light "bzzp.. bzzp". This never used to happen, and the monitor is just under a year old. I have a good quality TiSonic Mega Power EPS 460W power supply. I'm not sure if anything is actually the monitor that is the problem here... but the flickering lines is the only way I've seen the problem manifest itself, other than through the speakers... but that's almost negligable.

ASUS P4P800 SE & P4 2.8E GHz

geForce FX 5900XT 128MB
Soundblaster Live! Value

Any ideas?

Could be EMI? Do you have any other electrical devices close by that could be emmitting EMI? Try it on another pc.

MAG monitors are junk IMO. I had a MAG986FS that died on me after having similar problems.

There's a lamp and a medium sized stereo system. The stero and lamp have always been near it, and it didn't always do this. I live in an apartment though...
