Hi, I've tried searching for this topic on this forum but it does not fit my problem.

My monitor display oscillates and shakes ONLY in WindowsXP, if the computer is posting or is in a game (Starcraft) the screen does not shake. Can anyone recommend me a solution please? I''ve checked all the surrounding wires that may be emitting a magnetic field.
 
do you have a personal fan around, not a ceiling fan or pc fans. o wait but its only winxp? i dunno then.
 
it could be your display settings. Try tweeking them and see if the problem goes away.
 
My 21" does the same thing. Increase your refresh rate to as high as your monitor will allow, that helped me alliviate the problem.
 
Thanks for the response guys. I've tried reinstalling video drivers, installing other version drivers, changing the refresh rate, but there is still the shaking problem. =(
 
I used to have this problem on a PC at my mom's house. At first I RMA'ed my monitor, got a new one and took it to school with me and everything was fine. However when I graduated and sent my stuff home temporarily I noticed that the replacement monitor still had the shaking problem. I tried another monitor I knew was good on her setup, as well as another PC, and discovered that all monitors had the shaking problem. I never managed to fix it, but I suspect she has a particularly dirty stream of current coming out of that outlet. If that is the case in your situation, a line cleaner will solve the problem, but they tend to be a bit expensive.
