Hey display forum junkies!

My Dell Ultrasharp 2407 is starting to show its age and I've been itching for a new monitor for some time.

I really enjoy the 16:10 aspect ratio of the 1920x1200 panel so there's no way I'd consider downgrading to 1080p, but I know my desire for >60Hz refresh rates and the GPU power required puts 4k out of the running too. This really leaves me with 2560x1440 as my only real option and I definitely want to move up to a 27-30" screen.

I know the inexpensive Korean panels are all the rage if you're looking to save and I've noticed the Qnix 2710 Evo II seems to have a decent rep and there are also fans of Crossover 2795 as well.

I can go with either IPS or VA, but no TN. Its possible a GREAT deal on a G-Sync monitor might persuade me to spend the extra but its a long shot.

Any recommendations?

Acer XB270HU.

The later revisions / models appear to be the same hardware as the XB271HU with the XB270HU stand. I have one. It seems to have the same firmware and UI as the XB271HU and also overclocks to 165hz.

I do like the XB271HU's stand and matte finish a lot more. Minus the red feet. I just don't think that you'll find one for a deal though. I'd really like to find a stand by itself and refit my XB270HU with it.

Just got the Asus PG279Q and it is pretty much amazing. It looks really good. Couldn't of asked for a better screen right now.

I ended up buying a Crossover 2795QHD.

We'll see how I like it soon enough.
