I use an Alienware 17 R4 with gtx 1070 and i7 7700hq 16gb mem to play mostly overwatch and Im looking to get an external monitor as its been years since Ive had a gaming desktop and I do miss the widescreen 24-27"

my dilemma is deciding between a 1080pm or 1440p

currently i can play overwatch max settings and maintain 130 fps @ 1080p i dont know how much of a struggle 1440p would be but if my laptop can handle it i would enjoy the extra res i think more so in non gaming day to day use

so, should i go for a 27-28" 1ms 1080p or go for 1440p and enjoy the higher res?

target budget about $300-350
