Monitor offsets picture

I am using an ACER X191W to play Call of Duty 4 and every time i try to change the resolution to 1440 x 900 the image on the screen shifts to the right, leaving a blank section of the screen. How do I fix this?

i did, problem is not only is it still not centered in the middle of the screen due to the ammount of offset in the first place, but when i quit out of the game, the screen needs to be re-calibrated

Googling for "Acer X191W EDID" brings two interesting threads:

I also saw links saying that the X191W was being sold for $60 at Staples early last year, so I don't know that you can expect much quality from it.
