I have a Asrock board with 4290 on board graphics. I also have a 5770 PCIe. The 5770 is hooked to a 24" Samsung.

The 4290 is hooked to the HDTV by HDMI. Everything works great.

Now, I plugged a LG L1520B into the 5770 DVI with a DVI>VGA adapter. It shows up as a non-plug-n-play monitor and will not sleep.

When I plug it into the VGA port on the 4290 on board it is identified properly and it works great.

What is the deal...does DVI to VGA adapter block the ID of the monitor?
