Friend's computer just built and the monitor is not receiving a signal. Monitor is not the problem. Even the video card doesn't seem to be the problem (tried with GFX5200, G4mx440, and GF5200 pci). What could possibly be wrong?!

Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe
Barton 2500+
Mushkin PC2700 512mb Memory
80G Maxtor HD
Enermax 350W PSU

sometimes the obvious gets overlooked
and I dont have time to verify that mobo
but is there video onboard as well? or any KVM?

You're trying this as a bare setup right? 1 stick of RAM, CPU/heatsink installed, and just the video card? Tried reseating the video card.

And make sure this is being done with the mobo outside the case, if for some reason you've got some short screwing things up....
