Hi, I have an issue that i have never seen before from my past experience so i will try and give as many details as possible and help would be very appreciated thank you.

I have an LG204WT 20.1WS Monitor and my video card is 8800GT Evga, i am on win xp sp3 and my mobo is giga ds3 rev2 i think. I been using this setup for over 2 1/2 years now with no issue.

Usually i restart or close my comp each 7-10 days and 2 days ago i closed it to clean up my desk a bit and after i was done when i came to start my computer, my computer started fine and everything (i could see my comp was on win xp with my G15 lcd screen) but my monitor was in Stand by (or hibernate or im not sure just the light was orange which means if u press anything or move your mouse its supposed to get off it) and wouldn't get off it, all hibernate options are turned off on my win xp and always been, my comp is set to run 24/7 and i manually close down my screen when i am done. I tried to restart the computer, change the plug to my 2nd on my video card, unplugged/replugged the cables and none of them worked. Then i thought maybe it was my video card who had an issue so i went and took my old monitor (crt) and plugged it and it worked, So i thought it was monitor so took it to my old comp and plugged it and it worked so right now i am confused because my Main LCD monitor with my Main computer doesn't work but if i take my Old CRT monitor with my Main computer it works and if i take my LCD Monitor to my Old computer it works as well... What is wrong or how can i fix it.

Thanks

is the new monitor DVI and the old monitor VGA?

tried a different DVI cable?

can you load the OSD on this monitor with no video signal (if yes, hit Auto or Reset or similar)

you aren't getting an "out of range" or "refresh out of sync" kind of message are you? (like the PC isn't trying to put 85hz into a 60hz panel, right)

its dvi and i havent tried different cables, im not sure what osd is usually i just open it and close it and nope all settings never changed always been same. Just after the clean up he didnt want to load anymore. I been thinkin maybe it has something to do with my 8800gt driver so im gonna try to update them see if it resets or something
