Heya people.

Im interested in 2 items.

1. HDTV - roughly 32-35inch. Either plasma or thin LCD to be hung on a wall. From the research I have done so far it seems either Panasonic or Samsung are the top 2 brands?

2. Either a TV or a Monitor for desktop computer gaming. 32inch or larger. Once again the plan is to hang it on a wall with an "extended arm" type of mount. I am currently using a Samsung 226BW "S" panel and am very happy with it but want something bigger. Considerably bigger.

Although I consider myself extremely knowledgeable with regards to computers, I am a complete imbecile and 100% ignorant on monitor and TV specs.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Either general brand name suggestions, model suggestions, or even links to specific items would be appreciated :D

Interested in high quality items but also looking for the best deal possible.

Thanks!

PS - I remember alot of chatter about a 37" Westinghouse HDTV that many people were using for a monitor and were very happy and raving about it. I cant seem to find that thread or find that deal still alive anywhere. If someone is aware of this monitor/deal Id love info :)

I'm about to pull the trigger on a Samsung LN32A650 (around $900 or so shipped right now) myself for a secondary HDTV/PC Monitor. I've read around about it and seems to provide a pleasurable viewing experience. There are a few on [H] that have the same LCD screen and also use it as a PC monitor too.

The Westinghouse HDTV you're referring to is a monitor-only, meaning it doesn't have a built-in tuner (like a TV actually does have), and there are a few that use it as a PC monitor (also has 1:1 pixel mapping). But I've read quite a lot of instances where panels have inexplicably died on them and other horror stories about the customer-service with Westinghouse being legendary in the sense of being worthless or non-existent. I'd rather pay a little more for a better-quality panel myself.
