Hi,

I'm needing to buy my wife a new monitor as hers is currently showing signs of dieing. She's a hobby photographer (so no need for professional grade stuff, unless its affordable) looking for a monitor in the 22" - 24" range. The monitor is also often used as our TV (for TV and movies). The monitor needs to either have VGA or HDMI input, as her nettop doesn't have DVI. If possible, the monitor should have good energy saving features.

I've looked through the forum and couldn't find anything current that really pointed me in the right direction, and I trust the opinions I find here quite a bit.

BTW, I'm more of a gamer and am curently using the BenQ V2400W and liking it quite a bit. Would it be an alternative for her? If so, what are some alternative monitors in the 24"+ range that are still affordable?

Thanks.

What does affordable mean? That really varies from person to person.

I would still consider an IPS panel even for a hobby photographer

here are some suggestions anyway

Dell U2311H $299

Dell 2209WA $319

Dell U2410 $519

HP LP2475w 559.99

Affordable means under 500 Euros, which is currently $685, but often the prices can be directly taken from dollars to euros, and other times not, so its hard to provide a specific price point on here. :)

I'll take a look at those.
