im currently looking to upgrade my dual display setup to a newer dual 24 inch setup. currently using two LG L204WT. i use my monitor for web/gaming/photo editing. i was really looking at the dell u2410 but after hearing about the issues right now with it im looking for other options out there. since i would like to edit pictures im guessing i need an IPS panel. right now my two monitors arent close in colors, so i would like to get monitors which would be pretty identical in colors(if thats even possible). also would have to be vesa mountable on my dual monitor mount/arm So what do you guys think are good choices. Price range would be around 450ish for each monitor

Ha, hey antok.

I'd say the u2410 is the best choice out, but you have to play the lottery to get it. It's what I just picked up in addition to my LG-246WP-BN.

I'm heavily considering just getting a dual u2711's, but I worry about the hardware needed to power that for games. Also, I've heard it lags pretty badly in gaming.

U2711 does not lag any more than my 2007wfp

odd, well I got the same response time for them... the u2711 was in srgb mode and the 2007 was in the normal mode or whatever it uses... maybe my testing is flawed lol.

Interesting :p I've also seen reviews saying the u2711 has less trailing than the u2410.

I've seen the U2711 in person and own the U2410 , both seem to have the same streaking for what I've seen in person.

i CANNOT afford dual u2711 lol. what would be the next alternative to the u2410? my brother got an imac 27 inch and the screen is magnificent! im looking for something that looks similar to thi. im not sure if i want one Big screen or if i want to still use a dual setup...im not really sure thanks

My friend has an NEC 24" IPS monitor and he is very pleased with it, got it for Photoshop work. He plays MW2 and BC2 on it as well and haven't heard him complain.
It's a bit pricey, almost $800.

Saw that, but it's canada only. I'm hoping they do the same deal for the US in the next week or two.

Yeah, I was suggesting the u2410 - I'm not sure dual u2711's would fit with the fredrik desk. Other than that, the only other option I've heard is to wait for the HP 24's and hope they are as good as the hype (and cheap).

yea i heard about the hp's i can wait a bit since i still dont have my tax refund money =) but i always said i wouldnt go back to a single display. but having a single 27 inch monitor is tempting. but dual 27s is just out of the question

I'm leaning towards gaming on a single u2410, and working/surfing on dual monitors. It would be great to be able to separate programs/have concurrent windows open. Or just to have a movie open in the other monitor.

Unless an insane 2711 deal shows up again, doubt I can manage that - don't think 2 would fit in the fredrik properly anyway (25ish inches width per).

Depends what your usage is I guess.
