Monitor for gaming laptop.

I switched from a desktop to a laptop as my main rig as I'll be moving around for the next year or so. I bought an Acer Predator Helios 300 with a gtx 1060 6gb. It's a great laptop, but when I'm home I would prefer a larger screen. I'm limited to hdmi 2.0 so I'm looking for a gaming display that will give the best experience. I would like something that's better than 60hz, 1080p is fine, but not sure if I should bother with 144hz.
