Monitor dying?

The other night my Proview monitor was displaying fine, when suddenly it all collapsed into a single, strong bright line across all the screen, like the vertical scanner stopped working, it was projecting on just one line across. This single, really bright light. I turned the monitor off, and turned it on again and it was gone. I don't know if you understand what i mean, but i was wonering if this was a sign of monitor failure, or a monitor dying. Any help would be much appreciated.

I know what you are talking about and the monitor is dying.
