While i await the arrival of my Mitsubishi 2060U i'd like to use my old 17 inch AOC 7ELR in the meantime, but for some reason it stops working in windows when i install the Nvidia drivers (any version). Its fine on the boot screens but as soon as windows is about to start the monitor shuts off.

I originally thought it might just be some weird issue with my MSI 6800 GT but i bought an EVGA 7800 GTX today and it does the same thing. Whats funny is i also have an even older monitor (15 inch ACER) and it works no problem. Maybe the AOC doesn't like VGA2DVI adapters? it works fine on my other comp with normal vga hookup.

Any insight is appreciated.

What happens when it "stops working", black screen or what?
Perhaps that monitor is so old, thats its not "plug and play" and is not able to tell windows drivers its max resolution/Hz, so nvidias driver uses too high settings or gets confused?

Ya it goes black. It does support plug and play so that shouldn't be an issue. But yes the Nvidia drivers must have some sort of setting the monitor isn't happy with. I don't think its the res/hz because i tried every res and refresh rate (i can change it since my tv out still works when the monitor is black) but it doesn't make a difference.
