monitor doesnt display anything

the monitor has been working for well over a year now. Its a samsung 953bw.
I turned the monitor off, then an hour later, i turn it back on, but nothing displays. Not even a "no signal". The blue light located on the monitor's power button is blinking so its not a power issue. Its not my pc either, i plugged in an old crt to my vga port, and it works fine. Any ideas?
 
Ouch. How old is your monitor? Have you tried connecting it via a different input? Like does it have vga and dvi?
 
Little over a year old. It had both dvi and vga, but sadly, it only came with a vga cable, no dvi, so i can't check that. I was gonna go and get a dvi cable, but the stores are closed at 10 pm.

EDIT::: I was thinking that it was the cable, but now im thinking its th emonitor because it doesnt even say 'no signal'.
