Monitor Distance?

I currently have a 22" Monitor a 226BW and i have it like 25 inches away face. Setting it up at 1680 x 1050 it gets kind of blurry to look at the font and i have to squent at times to read the stuff. I was wondering what the optimal distance is it between you and your face for the best clarity of the monitor. Is it ok to set the monitor at a bigger resolution in order to see the screen or is it not good to have the monitor at a lower resolution that it is recommended for the screen.
 
Damn, my 2560x1600 30" monitor is about 2 feet from my face and it looks great. Yours definitely shouldn't be blurry.
 
does your monitor have an auto or auto-config button or submenu? Mine was blurry till I selected that, and it changed all the settings and gave a nice sharp picture.
 
I have a 226BW and it sits about 2 ft away and its clear as can be. I also have a 2220wm same distance and also clear.
 
lol I think he's referring to his eyesight, not that there's anything wrong with his monitor.
