After spending a good part of the night researching monitors i have come up with some chocies but cannot make a final decision. I see a lot of people had the dell ultrasharp and i have read great reviews on them but i have read a lot of consumer reviews sayign it is not the best choice for gamers. I also was intrigued by the Samsung 940B which from what i read is a very quick monitor and has good picture, my only concern is will i notice the 6bit monitor. I do a little amoutn of photoshop but nothing where my colors need to be perfect, basically is there goign to be a visible difference in everyday use (WoW or surfing). Would it be worth the 30 dollars to upgrade and get the silver one that has 16.7 million colers THG said that the Viewsonic VP930 was quite a good monitor, i was wondering if that was 8-bit and what the response times owuld compare to the samsung. Also the vp930 is damn near 500 dollars and for that price i might as well get a 2005, is there a 17in version of the vp930 or is it only 19". It was suggested in my previous post that i check out the VA1912WB and from what i can tell it looked like a really solid monitor. Will games like wow support that aspect ratio? and the same question goes back to the 6-bit issue. And i am unsure of the VA1912WB, why is it soo much cheaper than the VP930, and is the listed 8ms gtg or bwb i assume its gtg, does that mean it has around the same quickness as the VP930? I also saw VX724 with a much faster response time than allt he other monitors and 8-bit, would this be the equivalent to the high end 17" by viewsonic and would it be worth sacrificing 2 inches for the added speed? And on a last note i have glimpsed at some LGs and SONYs are they worth looking into for a fast gaming monitor? THanks a bunch for you help and adivce

Try to get a 19" LCD; its a hard choice but all the monitors your mentioned will do you just fine.
 
I might have suggested the VA1912WB earlier, and I still do. Talk to Tiny, he will reassure you. I plan on having my VA1912WB by the 25th! :p
 
I think i've narrowed down my selections, I am goign to look at some widescreens this weekend to see how i like the ratio. And if i decide i do not care for the widescreen i am going to get the Samsung 940B, but newegg has two different models of them one that is black and one that is silver, the silver one appears to have 16.7 million colors over the black's 16.2 million is it worth the 30 dollar price difference and will i notice such differences just playing games and doing daily tasks (a little photoshop)? THanks again.
 
The silver and the black one are identical, except the bezel color. They are both 6 bit panels with 16,200,000 colors.
 
So i guess newegg just had a misprint, is the 30 cost difference just for the different color?
