Monitor decision.

I'm trying to decide between three monitors. At the moment I'm looking at the 20.1" Viewsonic vx2025wm, the 22" Dell E228WFP, and finally the Samsung 226BW. I'm more attracted to the 226BW because the specs are much more impressive, but it's also the most expensive of the lot. Any suggestions on if it is worth the price? And if not, what should I consider going with instead?

I wish I could help you but I am not a fan of the 22" monitor/resolution. If you are not interested in WS then get the 20" but I've read some bad things about viewsonic in general. If you want WS 24" at 1920x1200 will do you more justice. If you cannot afford a 24" its best to save up more money.

That's my opinion...

I'm in exactly the same position as you. In a way i'd prefer a 20" widescreen, like the Viewsonic 2025, 2035 or Samsung 206, because they have the same resolution as 22" so should deliver a sharper, crisper image. Anyone know what the best 20" widescreen monitor is, not including the Dell 2007 ultrasharp because that's too expensive.

I'm definitely not looking into a 24" too expensive, and excessively large for my needs or wants. I do have to be honest that the TN panel used in the 22" monitors worries me a little though, but I don't honestly think I'll notice it, and I'm not doing heavy graphics work or phot editing so it shouldn't hinder me. Besides, I hear the 226 has excellent color quality for a 22"

I can't give any opinion on most monitors, or what would be the best, but I did use the vx2025wm for a good while and was very pleased with it. The only downside I had was that trying to work with the viewsonic customer service was like trying to convince the devil I belong in heaven (complete crap), of course this could have also just been bad luck on my part, and hopefully you wouldn't need to return it anyway.

Acer has a 20inch MVA panel thats priced decently. Its better than a TN thats for sure.
