monitor darker on startup?!?!?

I've had a Dell 2007WFP (s-ips version) for a couple of months now. I never noticed this when it was new, but that doesnt mean it didn't happen. But now I noticed when I come out of screensaver mode my monitor is darker than it is supposed to be and it takes a few moments to come to full brightness.

I don't know much about lcds, is this a sign that my monitor is failing?

My monitor does the same thing when I first turn it on. It only takes less than 20 seconds to brighten up. I believe its normal.

My post was misleading. It only does it when I've had the monitor turned off and the screensaver is going. Today I left it turned on and when it comes out of screensaver mode it is bright and normal looking. So, I guess it is just kinda like warm up time when I first turn it on.

I have noticed this with my notebook. It seems quite normal.
