I wanted to see what people recommended for calibrating their monitors. I have found some software, but it only does so much because it required differend color shaded glasses to do full color calibration.

Is there any good software that doesn't require the glasses? Or if not, what would be a recommended software to use?

(update) I just found the site http://www.displaycalibration.com/ not sure how much it will help, but wanted to throw it in here.
 
Have a look around forums for what settings others have used for their display as well ICC profiles from places like TFTCentral. Although bear in mind, each monitor despite being the same model, will have small discrepancies meaning using any of the exact same settings as someone else will not mean it's properly calibrated.

I use the Lagom tests to calibrate my monitor by eye. As well as these 2 images:





Calibrating by eye will likely never get you the perfect calibration, but it's certainly cheaper than buying a hardware calibrator :)

If you're trying to calibrate several monitors used next to each other to a specific standard (120 cd/m2, 6500k etc) so as they all look the same, then it's very difficult to do so without a hardware calibrator.
