I calibrated my nec20wmgx2..here is what I did:
set my video card to default
set the monitor to factory default=dvi/standard
brought down ambient light to almost dark level.
I then prceeded with the calibration and all went well,upon completion,got a message that my settings were now in my video card.
My question is ,when I look at monitor settings..they are the same as I set them,before calibration:
Brightness=100%Contrast=50%
Sharpness=16.6%
Advanced dvi=off
Dvi mode=Standard
Am I correct in asssuming that the calibration gave me the same results as the factory default?Or Am I second guessing myself?
In viewing the comparision the calibrated setting seem to be slightly lower.
I used the spyder2express calibration tool and downloaded the latest version of the software ,prior to calibration.
Any help/comments would be appreciated.

Calibration doesn't adjust the monitor. It remaps the colors through the video card.

Some calibration programs can automatically adjust the settings on some monitors before calibration, but I tend to disable that feature since I find that usually produces less than optimal results on LCD monitors.

Your settings are fine for calibration, but I recommend lowering the brightness to somewhere between 25% and 50%. 100% is insanely bright on this monitor.

Also, set the sharpness to 8.3%. Higher settings introduce subtle artifacts.

Toasty;
Thanks for your reply.
Yes,the brightness is almost to a level that it hurts my eyes..
OK,but when I make a print,what I'm getting now is almost identical to my screen...should I still change those settings you recommend?
I'm not questioning your advise ...just curious.

Thanks
Mile

Mike

where did you get this?
i have looked everywhere, i see no recent version of software for the spyder2express:(

Dunan,
Go to www.colovision.com
Then register....your product
Go to support and look for downloads-
You should download version 2.3.5...
Even though it says it is for the 64 bit version of windows,I checked with tech support they emailed me,and told me to download it anyway..this from the senior sofware developer at colorvision..
