Hello ,
This is my first post so dont be hating to much :D
I have an ACD 30 and a spyderpro3 to go with it.I calibrate my monitor to 2,2 / 6500k /120cd and it looks awsome. The problem apears when i load some games, than i loose my calibration and i have to close the game and reload the profile to fix it.I read its all about windows 7 and color management problems, does anyone know a way to fix this?to force the color profile on certain games?noyhing i read so far seems to fix my problem.
Cheers

the only thing working for fullscreen games is "powerstrip"
don't bother trying anything else

powerstrip doesn't support icc profiles but it has gamma/brightness/contrast/colortemp settings for each monitor
should powerstrip fail to use your settings for a certain game you can do so manually using a hotkey

Try this out, http://colorclutch.sourceforge.net/ (don't use it in online games that may detect it as a cheat via PunkBuster, VAC etc)
created the batch file .The game is directx9 lineage2 ,playing on some private server.I have skyrim, deus ex,BF,cod 4 all seem to not loose the calibration i only get this in lineage 2.
this is my batch file,i have the game on C
"C:\Program Files (x86)\cclutch\inject.exe" "C:\Program Files (x86)\cclutch\cclutch_ix.dll" patch "C:\L2 Freya\system\l2.exe"

Monitor Calibration Wizards works as far as gamma correction goes. Download it, save your current settings and enable persistent profile.

This small program worked in Windows XP, not sure if it works in Vista/W7. *edit* Seems like this is covered in the Nvidia thread. It works on some games, not on others.

this is why i buyed a colorimeter to have my colors perfect.
Keep in mind that the calibration is only the first step which ensures your desired parameters and corresponding neutrality. During the essential second step transformations are carried out by a CMM on basis of the participating profiles. This isn't accomplished in games even if you prevent the LUT from beeing resetted - however: In your case this isn't of crucial importance regarding sRGB sources but I would at least recommend to choose the sRGB gradation as calibration aim instead of a fixed 2.2 gamma.

Best regards

Tks for the great responses guys :)
from all this i found Monitor Calibration Wizards to work the best.I run the game in window mode and all other utilities when ever i swiched back to windows, web surfing or anything else the monitor lost the profile. When i swiched back to game it would get back to normal.Monitor Cliration Wizard helps with this, the calibration goes in and out but a lot faster when switching from game to windows.Still tweeking it to find something permant ,something that doesnt have to switch my monitor in and out of calibration.I usualy play this game combined with internet stuff,it will load the profile in and out a lot...

Not a fix for your problems now but something to think about in the long term is you can get monitors that have their own hardware lookup tables that yo calibrate directly, which then bypasses this problem. NEC and Eizo are the two big ones I can think of. With them, you run a calibrator program that knows how to talk to the monitor and it is internally calibrated. The OS is then left uncalibrated. Means the calibration applies all the time, no matter what. You can even use them with a Blu-ray player or something and the calibration is maintained since it is all in the monitor.

The downside is of course cost. You have to buy one of their high end screens to get that and they aren't cheap. However said screens are very high quality so there is that. Top notch panels, excellent features, etc.

Unless you've got tons of cash sitting around I wouldn't suggest tossing your current monitor and getting one just to solve this problem, but it is the kind of thing to file away for future reference. Maybe in 3 years you decide you want a new screen, and you can take a look at their offerings. If a 30" ACD is in your budget, you clearly are willing to spend some funds on a good monitor so they wouldn't be out of the question.

Just something to keep in mind for the next time you get a new toy :).

powerstrip really is the only somewhat-reliable solution

maybe you could just copy your calibration values over manually?
of course that would require them to be viewable and in the same format

I tryed powerstrip,i went to profiles reseted everything than i calibrate my monitor with spyderpro. After calibration i went to profiles again ,pressed capture and named the profile. It works ok in windows but when i start my game the calibration is lost. After few seconds calibration is applyed to game, but when switching to windows ,again the in and out thing....i just want it to always stay calibrated, the in and out is not acceptable...

that's only possible by either:
1. hacking every single game that does this
2. changing part of windows not to give every application unrestricted access to desktop color settings anymore
3. writing a small tool to intercept the window message for changing desktop color from programs you didn't whitelist
2 and 3 are not that complicated but noone wrote a program for it yet

if you're only bothered by having to wait for the color switch to happen you could try to get a script that automatically spams your powerstrip color profile hotkey in certain situations (game active/inactive, alt+tab, ...)
that should make the switching almost invisible

the wait for a few seconds doesn't really bother me personally
i use multimonitor so i rarely have to switch out fullscreen games while playing
and i prevent using "real" fullscreen whenever possible

there also are free scripts able to turn most games from windowed-mode into windowed-pseudo-fullscreen
looks the same and there's no color change

If you're on ATI, you need to enable "write directly to pallet" or something, and enable HOTKEYS, so in games, you can revert back.

Well my problem was only in 1 game, lineage 2 a directx9 game.I kinda gave up and came up with a solution. For this game i will use the monitor default colors and i already have a calibrated profile wich i will keep loaded with powerstrip for all other games+everything windows related.I was worried that swichting between profiles like this would screw with my calibrated profile, there is noticeble difference between the 2.I checked the accurary of the calibrated profile with spyderpro after i swiched a bit between profiles and nothing is changed. So i will switch between these 2 profiles.
Tks to all for the helpfull responses.
