Anybody use them? I'm running out of space on my desk and I'm thinking of picking up one.

Pros? Cons? Would love to hear some input on them as well as recommendations for which one you have! :)

I am looking into this as well.

3 x ASUS VE245H here.

OP you may want to post your monitor size as well, it will determine what arms you can use.

I have this one: http://www.ergodirect.com/product_info.php?products_id=15941 It is quite nice, but stupidly overpriced imho. Unfortunately, most other ones similar to it are equally expensive, and I needed it due to the small size of my ez chair table, so I purchased it.

Aside from price, and the flimsy plastic clip-on cable minders, I am extremely happy with it using the 14" pole and free stand base. Very heavy and solid, with a great deal of adjust ability. It one once held 3 x s2409w, and now holds 3 x ZR24W. I can switch to portrait modes quite easily with it as well should I want to. It would have no problem with 3 x 25.5" monitors despite being advertised as only being meant for up to 25" monitors. I have heard that some people are getting 27" monitors to fit on it as well, though I doubt you could use portrait mode with only the 14" pole with one that large.

yea, it makes you wonder if you should be purchasing a larger or better desk at that price.

Otherwise here's a few places that sell it for around $50 less: http://www.google.com/products/cata...G4vyxDg&sa=button&ved=0CAwQgggwATgA#scoring=p

I use, and love a desk arm. Not sure how many monitors your using OP, but mine is a cheap, $50 dual monitor mount. It's on ebay, seller cputopia.

Oh sorry I'm actually looking for an arm for just a single monitor. I'll look into cputuia , does he have the ones that grab onto the side of the desk?

If that's the case. then a desktop mount is what you're looking for.

Sam's Club has better ones with free shipping, check out these prices: http://hardforum.com/showpost.php?p=1035274598&postcount=45

They're a little bit stronger than your usual deskmount, not a bad idea if you end up getting a bigger monitor down the road. It can accommodate most Vesa screw patterns.

The biggest difference between those three is the extension distance, there's a zero extension, a 6.5 inch extension, and a 10.5 inch extension.

Just received one of these a few days back for my two new Dell U2711 27" screens: http://www.mountedconcepts.com/ergotron/desk-mounts/lx-dual-side-by-side-arm.html

I won't be setting it up until I move in just over a months time, but I did have a good look over all of the components and I must say it looks like one very sturdy beast!
Ergotron only rates it for 24" panels, but I have no doubt that it'll handle the 27"ers with ease.

FYI, here's the single LCD mount version: http://www.mountedconcepts.com/desk-mount/lx-desk-mount-lcd-arm.html

I don't know that he sells anything other than duals and triples. High quality though, at least the one I got, and they clamp to the desk.

SJetski71, I tried to use your samsclub links, and only got the main page :\
I'm looking for a seperate single mount as well, highly interested in those samsclub ones. Couldn't get any amount of search terms to show em to me. Price sounds pretty good.

geeks.com has some quality single arm mounts (they also have the same dual I got, so I'm thinking same supplier?

$25 for either one.

I got this one from Monoprice. It is holding G2400WD and I would not recommend having the arms extended all that much as they will sag a lot.

But for less than $100 it works quite well at holding them up and level, might not be perfect across the top but can't ask for everything.

I just upgraded from my two old CRT monitors to a single flat-panel display - and for good measure I got myself a monitor arm. I followed the advice someone posted on this forum - instead of looking at new arms I went looking on ebay. I wound up getting an obsolete Ergotron desk-mount arm, cost about $40 including shipping. So far I love it.

One of the things I was really looking forward to with this new monitor was being able to rotate the display (also possible, of course, with CRTs, but much less elegant. :) ) The included monitor stand could rotate but changing the monitor's elevation wasn't terribly convenient. I think having the arm makes rotating the monitor and moving it around a lot more convenient... I am very happy with my purchase - and also very happy that I didn't spend $100+ to buy a new one.
