Monitor Arm for desk w/partial back?

Recently ordered an HP Omen 32 to replace my current monitor (which I'm giving to my wife for her desktop), and would like to find a way to mount it to the desk, rather than using the attached stand.

The problem is that the desk isn't the most conducive, as far as I can tell, for an arm mount (it's this desk, for reference). As you can see, the sides have about an 8" solid piece going down to slats, and the back, while it doesn't have those slats, also has a similar 8" solid piece. That's way taller than the desk clamps that I've seen. Any thoughts on a monitor arm that could deal with this issue?

Get a hole saw and make a cable pass though that can double as a mount point?

I've used at work monitor arms that screw into the desk surface but I don't have a specific recommendation.

Do you have a budget?

Not specifically- it's probably going to wait a couple of months, and go along with a new computer in general.

The hole saw would make sense. It also seems like some of the arms with desk clamps can be used with a grommet instead, and the clamp can be removed, if I end up drilling a hole in the top of the desk- I don't love the idea, but I guess it's something to consider.

My Ergotron can deal with a 3/8" hole if you don't want to go full grommet.
