Does anybody know a lot about the Monarch Hornet Pro sff barebones are any good? I'm considering turning my currenty computer into a LAN party machine. Also I found a water cooling kit made for sff which was reviewed pretty well by all the sites I checked - http://www.frozencpu.com/ex-wat-31.html. Does anybody have any experience with this kit, and does anybody know if it would fit on the Hornet Pro?

damn dude, that is a nice water cooling kit for a SFF. to bad it isnt copper. anyhow, my guess is that most likely it will fit. becasue the Hornet Pro is a pretty big SFF case. ( just like the antec Aria)
 
Alright, I'll do some checking around as I still have a ways to go before I get the money. Main reason I like that thing is because of the price, and it comes fully assembled, filled, and ready to put in a computer after a leak test. It's also completely self contained and uses a magnet pump so it doesn't need an external power source.
 
I've got a Hornet Pro and really like it (see my sig for specs). I don't have a water cooling system in it, though.
 
I have to strongly recommend against the watercooling unit you're considering.

I had the chance to test one, and I had much better results with the stock AMD cooler than with that POS joke for a watercooling setup.

I also tested it against a Zalman 7000A-Cu at low speed. Same ammount of sound, but much much better results with the Zalman.

I'd provide you with exact temps from my testing, but I've since lost the file where I had them.
 
The zalman should fit, but I don't have the experience with the Hornet Pro so I don't know what the height requirements are. The Zalman is wider than a stock cooler, but it is storter as well making ideal for many SFF cases.

I remember the Posieden cooler and it was a POS. Scott over at the TechReport said that it wouldn't fit in the same Shuttle as the companies brochure pictures showed without blocking the AGP/PCI slots. Also over at SFFTECH forums someone went ahead and ordered it for his SFF and it also did not fit as represented. I'd say stay away even if it did fit in the Hornet.

The problem is not the reviews. Configure one of these system yourself and you will see how overpriced they really are. I did one with modest specs and it was well over 2 grand.

Barebones = what ?

I added everything in with there configurator, not barebones but just basic stuff like CPU...ect. and it came out above 2 grand = 2 much

That'd be for the SFF itself......when you say "configuerd a barebones" you're generally talking about the system itself.....but that $350 you're talking about is gonna be for the Hornet and nothing else I'm assuming.....which isn't surprising.
