I have an ABS Tagan 750W power supply.

I have only 2 PCI-e connectors...

I want to run SLI + PhysX.....

I want to connect two 460's and one 8800...

Will I have problems using the 2 PCI-E connectors that already exist on one card, then using MOLEX to SLI adapters for the other two cards? (3 molex to sli)
 
yes but dont split off those molex connecters too much if you can help it.

I have 8 molex.
I would be turning 6 of htem into pci-e

They mention that there a few issues.

might want to look into getting an updated PSU. If you had a corsair 750 I would tell you your fine (they have 4 PCIe). this just seem to be pushing it here

it still doesn't look like a good idea to me. I would post this in the PSU forum for more feedback. maybe Paul could weight in.

I'd run 1 of the native 6 pin PCI-E to each card. Then a molex to pci-e to each card. Then a molex to single pci-e for the 8800. Make sure you use a separate molex chain for each card too.

I don't think your PSU is big enough though.

My PSU is TZ btw not BZ or whatever that one was.

I only have 750w. Each 460 uses 300w from the website I read.
My CPU is 140w.
Not sure what my 8800 uses. I'm definitely way over.

http://www.anandtech.com/show/3987/...enewing-competition-in-the-midrange-market/20 this shows what the system load is on the SLI 460GTX. about 510. you could probably do it but I would just upgrade your PSU. why push it? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139009 would be a good idea. a 750 would work but this gives you some overhead.
 
It's an extra $50 or so upfront. Can't afford that...

this isn't to say anything about that PSU (I don't know the brand) but those reviews aren't worth much without a load tester.
 
This is why load testing is important. this type of PSU can pass other website reviews. look at what happens on a load test (warning, this is a corsair video, but it still illustrates the issue quite well.)

I haven't found one. didn't look all that hard though. but you have lots of options though. corsair, Seasonic, Antec, PC power and cooling, Xigmatek, so one. Or ask in the PSU forum and see if anyone knows about it. the other place to ask is of course http://www.jonnyguru.com/forums/
 
Spend the money, and buy a damn Corsair 850! Your parts are too valuable to be messing around with a shitty PSU and molex adapters. $200 is less than one of your video cards, and you probably won't have to upgrade that PSU for at least 5 years.
 
You really don't want to skimp on one of the most important parts of your computer, the PSU. I would get the Corsair HX850w. It will fill your needs for power and last you for a while.
 
^^ This. Just get the Corsair. It's a great PSU. I have the baby brother Corsair 400CX and it's great.

EDIT: You can also try the Antec TP-750 it's a little cheaper but still offers great performance.
 
If you wanna save connections, you can combine wires from the two molex into one. So then its one molex per pci plug. I have done this on low and middle range cards. Just make sure you match the wires to the correct voltages and grounds. And connect each adaptor to its own chain coming of the PSI. Don't put all 3 on a single three molex chain coming out of the psu.

and that is a hell of a deal on 950w quality PSU. might be worth some extra cables.
