Putting together a new rig (I know, what an awesome way to spend a Saturday night!) and I've noticed that the female ends of my molex connectors don't line up with the male ends.

The pins on the male sides of these connectors are pointing in every which direction (like bad British teeth). Is it safe for me to jab some tweezers in there and "gently" straighten them out?

yeah, that's pretty normal. i usually just "work" them until they get in. you're not going to break them.

This is one of the worst parts of building a PC. I hope they improve these connections in the future.

ughhhhh that is SO frustrating. When you're just jamming those things together, and one pin doesn't line up, it's almost enough to drive one insane. Thank goodness for SATA.

happens A LOT with case fans, all you got to do is what demografik said, try and wiggle and work them in.

Probably one of the most annoying parts of building comps are those molex connectors, they never line up, Should be a Murphys law :D

Haha was definitely surprised last night when I was trying to line up those pins. This is the first time I've spent extra on a nice modular PSU and fancy CPU/case fans, so I figured that their molex pins would at least be straight (as opposed to the budget things I've used previously where the plastic molding around the molex pins didn't even sit together snuggly).

Oh well, nothing a pair of tweezers and some wiggling wouldn't fix. :)

That's pretty normal, even my new HAF 932, I have 2 of the 23cm fan's molex connector that just won't cooperate. What I do is to move the wires edge around, try to get the pins line up correctly, grip it tightly and try to attach it. Still takes a few tries usually before I can get it in.
