I have 6 case fans running in my computer and they are all powered by molex connectors, I was wondering if I bought a fan controller that had 3 pin connections would a bunch of 3 pin converters be as effective to change the fans rpms or would i require new fans? I know fans arent that expensive but I dont want to replace 6 fans.

It'd be a mess as far as wiring goes, but yeah, you could do it.

actually Im probably gonna go with this one:

http://www.frozencpu.com/cgi-bin/frozencpu/tmp-17.html

and I may end up buying 2 or 3 of those Thermaltake silent cat fans that are only 21dba with 52cfm. Im gonna start a new thread to see if there are fans that are even better. ive been looking all over the forum and I dont think anybody has matched it yet.

i just had to buy new fans, so i only had to do this for my Tornado, but it would be a LOT easier to just put 3pin headers on them

buy ten of these and you get free shipping, so 10 for $9.90
Then just cut the fan cables and use one end of those to attach it to the controller
