Mold inside my watercooling setup?

Hey guys, I am in the middle of replacing my tubing and cleaning out my PC due to the fact that I noticed that I have mold (it seems like) on the inside of my tubes and some inside my waterblocks (CPU and GPU). I thought I did everything right when I set it up about 6 months ago. I have the Asetek Antartica watercooling setup and used the watercooling additive like I was supposed to. I'm just wondering what could cause mold to grow inside my waterblocks/tubes and how do I prevent it? It seems that it was also severely hindering the performance of my watercooling too. Plus, whats a good way to clean out the waterblocks? Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Bacteria and warm conditions. The anti bacteria wears off and once it does the bacterica will go like crazy since its so warm and moist.Put ketchup in the waterblocks and scrub it off and rinse the block with warm water.

Or use Vinegar considering thats what actually cleans the mold and stuff off =).

I learned that on here after discovering that yes, Ketchup cleans waterblocks.

Thanks for the replies guys, I'll use vinegar to clean the waterblocks. I'll be buying new tubes and anti-bacteria additive today too :D

I tried cleaning out my waterblocks with vinegar but I don't think the black crap and some mold was removed. I let the vinegar sit in the waterblock for 30 min. and no luck. I was wondering what is a good way to flush out the system ie. the res. the cpu waterblock and gpu waterblock. I don't think vinegar is working that well.

Any suggestions guys on what kind of cleaner I should use to flush out my system?

what do you do? Like open up the block and pour ketchup into it and clean it?

Well I've flush the system and I don't think there is any mold inside the circuit. Is there a difference between normal distilled water from a drug store and distilled water from a hardware store?

The stuff from the hardware store is actually h2o3, not the typical h2o sold at the drug store. Hardware stuff should not be used in water cooling....
