howdy all, first real mod of mine. first time doing a lot of this shit. after seeing the mac on Aj Design i decided i needed to make one of my own.

i wish i had pics of the original i had to work with, but i just started photographing my progress. i decided to start with the front, and it had a large quarter inch deep by quarter inch high bezel across the front, where the floppy drive was. my first goal was to bondo that entire area, and get it flush with the rest of the case.

after two levels of bondo and a shitload of sanding (mouse sander is a must) i had a few tiny patches. i decided to use a little wood filler to fill them.

sanded the woodfiller, looks great. because of the color difference of the dried bondo, you can still see where the old groove was.

i sanded the shitty grey plastic coating off the entire front, and it appears to be ready for priming. except, i still have to dremel the dvd drive bay out, that will come later.

hopefully i can get some more work done on it tomorrow, ill keep you posted if there is interest. there is a damn lot left to do! those grooves/slits under the monitor slot are going to look sick exuding light from the cold cathodes i'll place in later.

here are some shots of what im going to work on tomorrow

i would love ideas you all can give me as i continue to work with the case. here are some of mine i have planned:

  • complete custom paint job, outside AND inside.
  • window where the monitor used to be
  • led glowing feet

before you ask, i am planning on placing a microatx board in there, so that it is a powerful gaming PC.

also, i can currently using uploadit.org to host my pictures, and am running out of space. can anyone recommend a good (free) picture hosting site or service?

thanks again, looking forward to the suggestions and ideas you all come up with!
