I cannot get a modem to work on the family's computer! It used to work fine, then it started coming up with:
Your modem appears to be in use by another program. Quit all applications, then try again.
Or
When I got to Query the modem in it's properties, it says:
The port the modem is attached to could not be oppenned. This may be a result of Hardware conflict. Check device manager.
I've check device manager, it says it's working fine. I've changed the com from 3 to 4. It's still says those same messages. I've un installed, rebooted and re-installed the modem, still nothing. No burn marks are on the modem I've switched the PCI slot, nothing...
Anything else to try? I wonder if the modem is just dead...
