hey, i noticed this a long time ago but you know when you look in the modem jack where you insert the wire from the wall to the modem, sometimes there are 2 metal things and sometimes their are 4. i use the wire with the 4 wire thingy. what is the difference bettween the 4 and 2? does it increase the download speed or something? or does it do or help it out??

Telephones use 2 actual wires to carry voice/data. The extra two are for power that lights up the keypad on the phones, sometimes modems have them there, sometimes they dont.

it's for another line. The red/Green Pair is the main line and Black/Yellow is if you have 2 phone lines. So it does not matter you only need 2 (If you have one phone line that is)

but if you have indeed 2 phone lines and 2 modems , you can mutlilink them
