How do ppl that modifiy their case, cut into the case so that they can show like a logo or something, then stick an LED behind it or something so that its like a glow in the dark thing.

after you decide WHAT you want and WHERE you want it, then you choose the best tool for the job.

Typically this will be a dremel tool, but I suppose not always. Then you can backlight it with either LEDs or CCFL

/edit beat me to it by just a hair.

Well, you pretty much just outlined it- they cut the case with a Dremel or something and put a LED or CCFL behind it. LEDs usually take a little soldering to hook up, but CCFLs are nice and easy to hook up to a regular power source.

As for cutting a shape like a logo, I'm sure there are enough tutorials on window cutting to give you more than enough of an idea how to do it.

If you're making a long straight cut, a hacksaw might actually be better. It cuts faster, straight, and lasts a whole lot longer than dremel cutting wheels. For curves, though, a dremel is best.
