I need to make cut outs in the lid of my 343B to house 2 120.3's... what tools do I need to go buy to get this done nice, easy and clean? Also... whats the best way to get the outline for this?
 
i used a jigsaw and it did a great job, takes alot faster and easier than using a dremal. I got mine for about 30 bucks at lowes.
 
What blades did you use? And did you get really nice clean lines? ... looking on Home Depot website since I aint got a Lowes real close.

any thing over 24 teeth per inch or so will do it and the lines were very clean. and i was cutting through some thick aluminum as i have a lian li v1200.
 
jigsaws are great it is also nice to have a dremel with some sending disk to clean up the cuts.

I'll second this. Every modder should own a nice variable speed Dremel and a bunch of sanding/cutting/grinding discs for it, among other things.
 
Just went out and picked my dremel up last weekend had no way to finish the job without it. also remember to tape the area you are cutting to minimize the damage to the paint.
 
The higher the TPI, the better... The one I used for my aluminum case had 24tpi.

With ANY tool, put at least 4-5 layers of masking tape down on surfaces you wish to protect. Also, the first layer of tape should be "fuzzed" before placing it on the surface. Fuzzing the tape means to put it on your clothing, so it picks up lint. Even masking tape will stick and pull off paint if you're not careful.
 
LOL, mental note taken on the fuzzing... I have 4 cats so I could just do a lil de-fuzzing on them to fuzz my tape :)

Hahaha, I wonder if that's considered cruelty :D.

Reminds me of the time my cousin's kitty had a close encounter with a big wad of duct tape. The poor thing had a ball of tape hanging off of it for hours before we could take it off. Haha!
