Just picked up my first soldering iron today and cut my teeth fixing a few fraid power cords around the house.

So, Now I'm looking at my mouse. :D

I don't feel confident enough yet to change the red LED in the bottom of the mouse, but I would like to add one or two blue ones in addition to the read on [ one in the front of the mouse, the red in the middle, and another blue at the back end, should look groovy ]

My main concern is... The draw. This is a wireless mouse afterall, and I don't want to be draining batteries every other day with my new LEDs, I know their going to add more load to it, I just don't want it to be so much they die in a day :p.

And since I don't know jack about LEDs, are there low draw high light output LEDs I can safely wire into my mouse?

and how can I look to it effecting battery life?

I'll be getting them from Radio shack, so a model number will help alot.

I'll post a diagram of how I'm thinking of adding them to the electrical system later this night when I find my photoshop CD.

-EDIT-

I'm gonna be throwing a power switch in there to, got the idea from the other thread in this forum about switching the mouse off :D

Looking around on Radioshack.com

Looks like the only blue ones that they have use 5 and 6volts.

And since the batteries don't even put out 3 volts, I don't guess those particular LEDs are usable..

Yeah look @ radio shack and no wonder your dieing in games when your looking at the mouse lol j/k

Actually, the only game I play anymore is Renegade.

And I'm quite good, Unfortunately I'm so good that I get banned from servers even tho I don't cheat.

Thankfully I admin one server, so I always have a place to play :D

Thats my idea in the short term.

Will I have to clip the wires between where I solder on the LED leads? or will it be able to just suck off the line what power it needs?
