Hey,

I was wondering what cooler is better for the 6800 GT than the reference one that came? I dont care about how much noise it generates. I just want it to cool my card better so I can raise the card to 1.4 volts, and raise it speeds beyond 430 mhz (hopefully to 460 mhz).

P.S. I dont think the NV5 is that good......am I wrong.?

ANyway I can get the cooler like the one one this videocard:

Anyone know of a good watercooling solution?

Just a quick fyi a lot of GT's will max out between 430 and 450, no matter how good the cooling is. Mine doesn't like going over 440 without artifacts...even with some very cold water going through my system putting the gpu at 45c load.

Anyway, most gpu/chipset blocks will fit fairly easily, I know firsthand both the swiftech and koolance blocks fit, as well as certain DD blocks.

As far as air cooling I don't think there's a better "stock" solution than the silencer...unless you want to mod a cpu heatsink or the like.

whats strange is the reference hs/f that came on my PNY GT acutally allowed me to reach 460 for core, but not for long term gaming. with the waterblock on it, i can only hit 450 on the core.

With my reference hs/f I can only hit 415 stable- passing all benchmarks.
I bet if I upped the voltage by 1-1.5 V I can hit 460.
Thats why I need a good cooling solution

Anyone here hit a stable 460 Mhz Core here.?

My PNY 6800 GT with NV5 would hit 440 satble. I read somewhere the Winfast cooler actually run hotter, because of the fan is slow and quiet.

right now my GT is running 450/1200 stable. thats with a waterblock on it tho lol

i recommend just about anything dangerden because of there larger tubing, but koolance does the job just as well lol, i managed to get my GT's core to reach 459 today w00t!
