Hey, I have one of the old school PC-60USB's with the plastic faceplate around the power and reset buttons as seen below:
The plastic piece has always been the one thing that I didn't like about the case and I finally want to get rid of it. A couple years ago I saw someone do a mod to remove this panel. I have been searching every case modding site and google to find a mod to give me some inspiration but I can't find a thing.
Has anyone out there done a mod like this or know of one that someone has done? Any pics would help.
I have been considering putting some new Bulgin switches in there. However, there are four screws that hold the plastic piece in place and if I was to remove it the holes for these screws would be showing. Can anyone think of a creative way to hide these? I was thinking maybe I could apply a cutout of this carbon fiber film in the same shape as the plastic plate as this would match the other fake carbon fiber on the Liam Li's and it would cover the empty screw holes. I don't know if that would look any good though, it might be terrible. Otherwise, I thought it would be awesome to put a real metal plate in the plastic one's place. However, I don't know how easy this would be. Surely I would need some good equipment to shape the piece and make the openings for the power and reset buttons (and also make them line up). What do you guys think?
Oh yeah, I was also thinking that if I found the right looking screws it might look fine if I just put those in the holes and be done with it.
