Think we'll see ability to mod for PS3 titles? Source Engine is coming over with the Orange box. Think devs will release PS3 SDKs with their games like Valve did? Bluedog anyone?

i would doubt it as i think people view the console market differently. Even tho there is a much bigger PC -> console gamer market corssover than ever before.

it all depends on how you look at it. I bought my PS3 because it was MUCH cheaper than building a new gaming PC. ( among other things like the ability to watch Hi-Def movies ) I saw that the cost of a top of the line Video card was more than a PS3 now. I know the PS3 will never match the preformance of a top of the line PC ,but I need to have the best when I do go out and make purchases. I felt that the PS3 would survive as the top of the line console for at least a few years. ( I know that people disagree and that the 360 is a good choice here as well. ) This was my personal justifacation for makeing my purchase ,but I do think many people may be thinking along the same lines here.

The enthusiasts market is taking a hit from this new gen of consoles. This may be a good way to give games more life ,since they can now have more contant for the games that wont cost the game manufacturer more R&D or additional development costs.
