Hello folks
I've got an old (Alienware) Chieftec Dragon/Chenming Elite case that I want to mod that I've had since 1999. Yeah...
I know Chieftec used to sell windowed side panels, but I haven't been able to find any online, and have been trolling various forums in search of one. Should I obtain one, I was planning on using a hole saw to cut a fan hole in the side; I dunno if that's the proper way to do it, since acrylic can melt at fairly low temps. But in the likely event that I can't get my hands on a windowed case, where can I find some good window kits? They sell 'em over at Frozen Cpu, but is there anywhere else that's more cost-effective?
Once I getthe window kit mounted/side panel installed and cut, I was planning on mounting a UV-CC light in the case, and sleeving my PSU cables with an orange-ish UV glow. Where should I mount the light, and where can I find the oragne glow that I so deeply desire? It should be noted that I've got blue lighted case fans that I'm hoping will wash out the UV light's deep purple glow. All the fans in the case are 80mm.
The most serious mod I want to do is mounting some toggle switches on the top of the case (?) or in one of the empty 5.25" bay covers to control the lights...and what else? PSU? I dunno why (since I've never really used them), but I'm just a huge fan of the way toggle switches look and feel, but I honestly don't mind having the extra switches. What kind of switches should I get? Thus far I'm looking at SPST ones; I think that should work, and I've seen some wiring tutorials online somewhere so I should be able to figure that out.
