I'm looking to buy some modders mesh (or someting similiar) for a project of mine. It needs to be 3 feet by 1.5ft (a bit larger is OK). The modders mesh site only seems to sell smaller amounts, does anybody know where I can buy something similiar online? It needs to be fairly sturdy, as it is going to be for a lid to a custom glass gecko cage.

McMaster-Carr

On the left is a "Find Material" block. Type in "perforated", scroll to the bottom where it says "perforated metal". HTH.

While I'm sure the OP is grateful for the link to the actual Modder's Mesh retailer, the biggest piece they sell is 24" x 12"........and currently, they're showing as sold out on all 3 sizes & styles they carry.

Pierced metal is also a good search term to use when looking for this sort of item. I found something useful at a local home improvement store, which was 36" x 36" square, though made out of aluminum (not sure if that'd be heavy duty enough for your needs, OP).

I edited the first reply to be a bit more accurate. What you are looking for is perforated metal. In this case, hex. Not mesh. Mesh is entirely different.

Satisfying all who thought I'd post here.

I'd post soemthing more constructive, but I have nothing to add that hasn't already been posted.

I 2nd McMaster Carr. I got a full sheet, and still have about 1/2 of it left.

I bought 40"x30" perf. metal (hex) last night. A bit expensive, but it'll be worth it.

Anyone have experience on how long it takes these guys to ship?

Yeah, McMaster is the +1 Materials and parts source for almost every manufacturing business in the US. EXCELLENT Service, bar none.

Seeing as he was wanting a piece to make a cover for an animal, not a mod, mesh would seem to be more accurate. Either way, he got what he was wanting.
