I have 2 Samsung ToC monitors, one has the 1080p capability. My video is HIS 6950.

I was trying different HD settings for the monitor and suddenly this message "mod not supported" showed up on the screen. I believe I was selecting HD 1080i or something. for the monitor.

From this point on I cannot hook up 2 monitors, only any one at a time. This tells me that the monitors themselves are OK.

The question is if I re-flash the video card, would it work? Thanks.
 
I'm assuming that is meant to be "mode not supported", as in your monitor doesn't support a 1920x1080 interlaced signal. Change them back to 1920x1080 progressive (1080p).

This shouldn't have anything to do with flashing the video card. You shouldn't ever have to do that.
 
Thanks for the reply. I cannot change it while 2 monitors are hooked up to the video card. Now it works only with one monitor at a time. The minute I connect both, that message comes up and the other monitor does not show the windows bar at the bottom of the screen.

I will try to shut down the monitor and reconnect to see if it goes away.
 
Are you trying to mirror both monitors? It's possible that they both don't support the exact same resolution and therefore one is dropping out of range. Try using the other as an extended at whatever it's native resolution is. It sounds like one does 1920x1080 and the other doesn't, so they should be set accordingly in CCC display properties. Make sure you are doing this as individual monitors and not an eyefinity group.
 
One is HD and the other is not, but both are ToC models.

If I connect only one at a time, no problem. The minute I connect both, the "mode not supported" appears.

So the monitors should be fine. There is something wrong with the video card itself.

I reflashed with the 6970 mod but it does not help. Maybe try to reflash back to the original bios and re-seat the card?
 
Both were working in 1920x1200 before.

Now I can connect only one monitor at a time. If I connect both, the error message appears.

It's not an issue that re-flashing would correct. According to your first post, all you were doing was trying different HD settings when one of your monitors dropped out. That wouldn't cause anything to necessitate reflashing. Were you trying different the different HD settings in CCC?
 
I was selecting HD 1080p since one of the monitors is HD.
Before I was able to change it back w/o any problem.
I am thinking that the dual monitors feature of the video card is messed up.
 
I just found this in the manual:
"Not Optimum Mode
If the vertical resolution is not optimum mode, you can still see the display but the warning message
below appears and disappears after one minute.
The user must adjust the frequency within that one minute.
Note
Refer to Specifications > Preset Timing Modes for the resolutions or frequencies that are supported
by the monitor."

How can I adjust if I don't see CCC?
 
Here's an easy fix for ya.
Plug both monitors up.
Open CCC (right click on the desktop and pull it up)
Wait for it to load up.
Next hold the windows key and then hit the right key until you see CCC on the monitor you can see.
After you can CCC set it back to something you can use on that monitor.
 
If both monitors are hooked up, only 1 has the desktop background. I right-click CCC but did not see.
What I did was using the mouse and move around, try to "pull" whatever behind the "dark" monitor and next thing you know the CCC screen showed up. Both are on extended desktop.
It was there all along. I was able to correct the resolution.
