you can see the motherboard i use in my sig. at idle it runs about 55c. at full load its like 63c to me these seem a bit high. any thing i can do about this?

1. This should probably be in OC/Cooling, but whatever.
2. You say "mobo temps", but what exactly? CPU? Northbridge?
3. It doesn't matter though. Best bet is to take off the heatsink, clean it, reapply some thermal paste, and put it back on. And if it's your CPU, think about a better cooler.

P.S. Those temps aren't that hot, they're high yes, but not dangerously so.

EDIT: And of course, more case ventilation always helps.

Or even try cleaning it out of dust, get a can of air and a cloth and clean that sucker out.

i ahve an old P4 rig and it used to overheat like, mad but thne i cleaed off like 2 years worth of dust and it is cool as anytihng.

It would really be best to know where you're getting those temps? The on-board sensor? Mosfets? Northbridge? CPU?

What's the ambient temperature in the room? Do you live in Death Valley?

What kind of cooling are you using currently? How about case ventilation?

When all else fails, take the side off the case (replace it with window screens if you have a cat). The more air you get in there, the cooler (in thoery) it will be.

55c in a closed case with minimal ventilation (the whole "I care more about sound/noise than temperature" crowd) isn't awful unless it starts affecting stability.

I'm running a closed case with watercooling and several fans and get about 25c ambient from a sensor mounted at the top of the case. If the sensor your using is mounted on-board it may be close to something creating a lot of heat... the Mosfet sinks on my A8N32 float around 45c.

well i used ntune monitor program and it says "nforce 57c" so i guess it would be the southbridge and yes i have taken off my side panel and i had an industrial size fan blowing on it and it droped the temps by like 5 degrees or so. i have a zalman 9500 on my cpu and it idles like at 33c. my room temp usually is like around 60 or so. and ventilation is decent cuz the case i have(li-li pc-v1000) has the front and back filled with hundreds of holes for better airflow. i havent noticed any problems or anything, its pretty stable so far, but i didnt know if this was higher than most people usually get.

and cleaning my case wouldnt really help cuz this pc is like a week old.
