i hadn a crappy old asus p4s533 and i was having a lot of problems so i decided to get a new ...only slightly better p4s800 lol. the computer still ran decently though with the p4s533. so after i took all the components out, put the new mobo in, etc. i try to boot up the computer and nothing....black screen. the computer sounds fine but there's just no picture. first thing i checck is the cpu cause there was the most potential for fuck up there.

so i studied the cpu for atleast 5 minutes and cant see a single bent pin or anything. i've checked power connectors and stuff and it makes me think it's a setting or something that i've missed. any ideas?
 
when the pc boots up and theres no video its normally ram issues, check that. put in different slots. make sure all the cables and cards are nicely fastened.

could there be an issue with using pc3500 when the computer only offically supports 3200...i used this same ram on the old board though :( i dont have any other ram to test with it either...could possibly get a friends. all cards were secure...only things im running is 1 hd,1 vid card,ram, and the processor ....bare bones
 
Which cpu are you trying to use.
What speed is your FSB set to.

If its the 2.53 Ghz one and your FSB is set to 800 Mhz then your trying to run it at 3.8 Ghz.
It probably wont post at that speed. :p

how do i change the fsb without being able to post?

take out main components (starting with RAM) untill ur system posts.
 
how do i get the mobo to run at 533 to match my proc or do something to fix that.... :confused:
 
Your best bet would be to clear the cmos.
Unplug it, Take the battery out, Move the jumper over for around 10 secs, move jumper back, replace battery, plug it back in and pray. [H]ard.
