mobo or memory prob?

I need to know how to install memory in order to get the 800fsb. I have an albatron px865pe pro. I tried putting it in and the book said to use dimm 1 and 3. so i did and the comp would not get to windows setup. I then tried using dimms 2 and 4 but that also did not work. CAme up with an error about the memory managment or something. anyway right now I just have one stick in and it is working but i wanted to know if there was anything special with the bios or something like that bedides just hitting hyper-threading enabled which i did. memory is geil pc3200 ddr 400 256mb.

Memtest it first. Probably bad RAM. I got a pair of those and one of them was bad. When memtesting, test with one stick at a time first.
