Mobo for e6400

Getting a new system and I need a good mobo for my e6400. I’m going to be overclocking my e6400, but nothing ridiculous probably only up to 3.0ghz or what ever is the stable speed.

Not sure if I’m going to go SLI at this point, but a SLI mobo wouldn't be bad for the future.

I had a EVGA nForce 680i AR in mind but was not sure if its the mobo for me, like I said im no going to do very much overclocking, if anything just my cpu.
 
If people can just list decent/good motherboards for a e6400 that would be great :)
 
It would be a very long list ....
The cheap route for what you want & leaving the possibility of SLI open would be an 650i chipset board like P5N-E, FP-IN9, P6N SLI-FI/Platinum.

...there are some other differences in audio and LAN chips used (shrug), and some of the differences listed on NewEgg are probably not different at all - for example, the MSI boards support 1333MHz FSB, but only 1066/800 are listed, hard to say which boards have additional IO/port headers on the board... the Platinum for example has an additional Firewire header, 2 additional USB headers, a COM header, etc. Also the MSI board has a LP1 port on the back and the ECS board has a COM port instead.

I like the layout of the ECS board, giving an additional 1x PCI-E slot, but you trade off 16x electrical in the main card slot for 8x. Of course if you are using a 2-slot-wide gfx card, you lose that second 1x slot anyway.

ASUS also has a 650i-based board, with fewer only 2 PCI slots, but has eSATA on rear, no heat-sink on the south-bridge, odd floppy connector location, inferior audio port count, costs more than Fi or ECS boards, but less than Platinum, etc. Then they have a hybrid 680/650 type board that has heat-pipe cooling, can do 16x16 in SLI mode, plus an x8 physics card at the same time, has 6 SATA ports (other boards have 4), but only handles 2 IDE devices (others all do 4), and no eSATA... this one costs more than the Platinum.

I'm not sure what the Abit board is going to cost, but it's laid out differently as well, so if you decide to go for one of these 650i-based boards, be sure it has the features you want.
