Hey everyone, i was planning on getting a Gigabyte MA790GP-DS4H mobo running an AMD Phenom 9950 BE. Also will have a Zalman 9700 cooler on the CPU. Will the Gigabyte board have any special software or any way to let it control the fan speed rather than having to use the Fan Mate 2 controller for the cooler itself?

the board is decent, as with the processor - i have had no problems yet.
as for monitoring temperatures, its not amazing. i am looking to get a fan controller myself for exactly the same reason.
as i say, decent kit - try and get the 125W processor instead of the standard. it runs cooler and allows a little more overclocking before the bugger catches fire.
if you want some recommended overclocking rates give me a shout - ive been testing and configuring mine for ages. I know its not the same on every identical board but will at least give you an idea
