My computer just died on me it was on and next second it just went off. I see the fans trying to turn and stop. I disconnected the mobo power, now the case fan and cpu fan work. I disconnected my mobo and all the components from my computer and still have the same problem. What could be wrong with mobo?

could be psu ..could be vidcard (tho usually they'll artifact or something of the sort before dying) .. could be cpu

I've had similar experience with cheaper power supplies getting hot then shutting down like that only to maybe kick on the fans briefly , but never coming back to full life

but then again ..you could be right and it is your motherboard that is truly dead ..hard to say for sure without swappen out parts and seeing if it comes back to life ..
:(
