mobo brackets for case from scratch

I got lots of free time, always wasting it. I got a metal box i want to convert to a computer case. its about the same size of a mid tower.

cutting up the mobo brackets from a previous old case worth the effort? or should I buy new brackets instead?

i can't weld but i have a rivet gun.

I'm not sure what you mean by motherboard "brackets"? Did you mean the entire tray itself or just the section where the PCI slots are?

Either way, you can buy entire trays and use whatever parts off them you need. Here's a couple places to start.

I would always recommend the CaseLabs parts, but MountainMods also offers motherboard trays.
