Thinking about going from E8400@3.6 and P5K-C to Gigabyte GA-870A-UD3 and Phenom II X6 1075T.
I'm trying to go pretty cheap and fast so I wouldn't want to wait for SB or Bulldozer when they will probably cost a lot more.

It's a single-GPU setup for gaming with some OCZ 4GB DDR3-10666, Win7 64 and a 700w OCZ PSU.

And I'm wondering if the Phenom will easily OC to at least 3.6Ghz?


Also can't order from Newegg or probably any US-retailers, just asking if I'm looking in the right direction.
 
I Think the motherboard is overpriced for the features, & the 1055t is known to hit 4ghz on air.. So I would your in the right direction, but I would find a better bang for buck mobo & get the 1055t & then get a better PSU since OCZ is known to produce sub par PSU's
 
There isn't much price difference for the two Phenoms in here so I might as well go with the 1075T.

What mobo would you suggest? I know I can save some on it since I don't think I'll need much if any features except good OC.

Also the PSU has been working just fine for a year, not a single problem with it.

As PSU's age they degrade, So at this point your going to a higher end setup with less PSU then you had a year ago..

As for the botherbaord comparing prices on newegg the Asus M4A88T series boards seem to be better priced & should OC as well. If its just an OC that your after Biostar 880g boards have been some overclocking gems from what I hear (wont know 1st hand till next week).
 
I guess I could go for the M4A88T-V EVO, and the 1055T if you're saying it's the same as 1075T to overclock?

I would look at the matx varients.. There typically cheaper & performance will be the same. For a home user I see no reason to get a full ATX any more. Just wasted space.
 
Hahah yeah I was looking at those but wasn't sure for the same price. I heard they get a bit hotter but I guess they don't get too hot to begin with.

Now I'll just wait a bit more.
